• Develop Governance Strategy: Create and implement a Data Governance roadmap that aligns with the vision of Enterprise Information & Governance.
• Policy Oversight: Review, update, and enforce the Data Management Policy and Data Governance Charter, ensuring they meet current regulatory requirements and business needs.
• Council Leadership: Act as a pivotal leader within the Data Governance Council (DGC), guiding decision-making on data standards and addressing cross-functional data conflicts.
• Quality Management: Execute the Data Quality Management Procedures, setting KPIs for data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Standardization: Establish organization-wide data standards, including protocols for metadata management, data lineage, and master data management (MDM).
• Remediation: Lead initiatives to identify "bad data" and supervise remediation efforts in collaboration with data owners and stewards.
• AI Preparedness: Partner with the CFO and Security teams to ensure data pipelines are optimized for AI applications while upholding stringent security measures.
• Access Control: Collaborate with Security to determine data classification levels and oversee policies for managing access to high-risk data.
• Compliance: Ensure that data practices comply with global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and align with internal Enterprise Information & Governance mandates while working closely with Deel compliance teams.
• Stewardship Program: Recruit, train, and oversee a network of Data Stewards and Data Owners across various business units to promote local accountability.
• Data Culture: Champion the concept of Data as an Asset, fostering a culture of data literacy and accountability across the organization.
• Executive Reporting: Provide consistent updates to the CFO and executive leadership regarding governance maturity, risk levels, and the ROI of data quality initiatives.
• Over 10 years of experience in Data Management, Data Governance, or Information Architecture, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position.
• Extensive knowledge of data profiling tools, metadata harvesters, and modern data stacks (such as Snowflake, dbt, etc.).
• Experience with AI systems deployed in production.
• Proven capability to draft "Decision Papers" and Charters that secure executive endorsement.
• In-depth understanding of DAMA-DMBOK frameworks and the data quality lifecycle management.
• Outstanding ability to communicate technical data risks in terms of business impact for C-suite stakeholders.
