This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Identify gaps and evaluate compliance obligations by assessing their likelihood and severity, while maintaining an ongoing risk register.
• Develop and uphold control measures that convert compliance requirements into everyday business operations.
• Create, update, and distribute policies and procedures, ensuring the inventory remains current and properly versioned.
• Implement a structured, risk-based monitoring and testing program, which includes a defined testing calendar and methodology.
• Record findings from tests, audits, examinations, and self-assessments; assign root causes; and ensure remediation is completed within set timelines.
• Coordinate regulatory examinations under the guidance of the VP of Compliance, handling document requests, scheduling, and communication with examiners.
• Construct and maintain KPI dashboards, while generating regular compliance reports on program health, findings, and remediation status for the VP of Compliance, executive leadership, and the board.
• Directly oversee assigned compliance personnel, taking responsibility for their performance and professional development.
• Collaborate closely with business, operations, and technology stakeholders to integrate compliance requirements into daily processes.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline. A compliance certification (e.g., CRCM) is advantageous.
• Over 7 years of experience in financial regulatory compliance, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior compliance position, ideally within auto lending, small-dollar consumer lending, or other highly regulated sectors.
• Strong understanding of federal and state financial services laws and regulations.
• Experience in scaling a compliance program within a dynamic, growing organization.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team and collaborate with key stakeholders to advance business objectives.
• Practical experience with compliance risk management and governance, including risk identification, scoring methods, risk registers, and risk-based monitoring and testing.
• Familiarity with the use of, or support for the implementation of, a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform.
• Experience in drafting and managing the lifecycle of policies and procedures.
• Skilled in utilizing technology to enhance efficiency, with a willingness to adopt and integrate AI solutions into workflows.
