Director of Applications – Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Create and implement a strategic roadmap for enterprise applications that aligns with business objectives.

• Manage the daily support, maintenance, and improvement of all business applications.

• Ensure that applications are performant, scalable, secure, and accessible.

• Spearhead the assessment and deployment of new technologies and SaaS solutions.

• Establish governance frameworks, standards, and best practices for application management.

• Provide operational support for store systems and oversee the Store Systems team.

• Supervise the management of the store systems ticket queue.

• Ensure prompt resolution of production issues that impact retail operations.

• Coordinate support outside of regular hours and manage emergency response protocols.

• Lead enterprise application initiatives, including POS upgrades, modernization of loyalty platforms, payment gateway transitions, and cloud migrations.

• Oversee Project PawPoint, which includes the Oracle Xstore POS upgrade, Oracle Loyalty (CECS) upgrade, implementation of the Aurus payment gateway, and migration to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

• Collaborate with Infrastructure and Network leadership to guarantee that applications are supported by reliable hardware and connectivity.

• Conduct negotiations with vendors, manage contract renewals, and perform quarterly business reviews.

• Maintain relationships with technology partners, including Oracle, Microsoft, Dell, and others.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of 7 years of progressive IT experience.

• At least 5 years in a leadership capacity managing enterprise applications.

• Experience in supporting retail systems, including POS, loyalty programs, payment processing, and ERP platforms.

• Demonstrated experience with large-scale implementation and upgrade projects.

• Proficient in vendor management and handling technology budgets.
