This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and management to Medical Liaisons working in the field.
• Formulate and execute strategies targeting key opinion leaders, organized healthcare providers, academic institutions, integrated delivery networks, and other healthcare partnerships.
• Ensure effective collaboration between field-based Medical Liaisons and various units and personnel within Novo Nordisk.
• Represent Field Medical Affairs across the US affiliate and globally as required.
• Offer administrative and management support for the field-based FMA program.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Establish operating policies and procedures, budgets, schedules, and performance benchmarks.
• Lead and engage in area and national projects, team meetings, and training sessions.
• Coordinate FMA activities at designated medical and scientific meetings and symposia.
• Present at symposia and foster relationships with healthcare providers.
• Participate in Marketing and Sales meetings, providing valuable industry insights.
• Identify and profile key investigators for clinical trials and future research initiatives.
• Address medical inquiries in compliance with legal, regulatory, and company guidelines.
• Review expense reports, time and activity logs, budgets, and performance metrics.
• Coordinate information and support requests related to research, CME, product information, education, and clinical studies.
• Collaborate with regional and medical-marketing teams to cultivate thought-leader relationships.
• Assist in preparing presentations for Pre-POA, POA, and other corporate meetings.
• Support educational initiatives regarding products and clinical data using approved resources.
• Recruit and select staff, filling open positions as necessary.
• Set and review annual objectives, coach personnel, and manage individual development plans.
• Communicate policies, procedures, and organizational changes effectively.
• Coordinate training and development strategies with other Field Directors.
• Evaluate field performance of Medical Liaisons and provide constructive feedback and guidance.
• Mentor Field Directors, Medical Liaisons, and RMSs.
• Prepare Medical Liaisons for fieldwork by reviewing agendas and presentations.
• Spend time in the field with direct reports to provide coaching and personnel development.
• Assess workforce capabilities and gaps, planning for resource needs.
• 2–3 years of experience in a Medical Liaison role or a similar position.
• 6 years of prior management experience, including a minimum of 2 years leading field medical affairs personnel.
• 8 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• An advanced degree in healthcare or science, such as DO, MD, PharmD, PhD, or DNP.
• Ability to build and enhance relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Demonstrated success in developing opinion-leader relationships, organized-provider strategies, and team management.
• Strong cross-functional collaborative leadership skills.
• Capability to work independently and proactively address team-wide challenges.
• Commitment to self-development through leadership/personal growth, scientific literature, and competitor insights.
• Ability to operate autonomously and strategically.
• Flexibility and foresight to guide field medical personnel through a dynamic market landscape.
• Proven leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must maintain compliance with Novo Nordisk’s motor vehicle points threshold.
• 50–75% overnight travel is a requirement.
• Direct experience in a therapeutic area is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the healthcare system is preferred.
