Director, Data Solutions – Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the Data Products & Engineering department, defining the vision, priorities, and technical direction.

• Manage, mentor, and develop team members, focusing on coaching, performance management, and capacity planning.

• Oversee the operational integrity of Statara’s data infrastructure, ensuring pipeline reliability, platform stability, and data product quality.

• Propel the ongoing enhancement of Snowflake-based architecture and modern data workflows throughout the organization.

• Align engineering and data product priorities with commercial goals and the overall product roadmap.

• Direct the technical development of client solutions from initial concept or testing to high-level design and delivery planning.

• Convert business objectives into actionable data, analytics, and activation strategies that leverage Statara’s capabilities.

• Act as a principal technical voice on intricate or innovative solution designs.

• Spot opportunities to standardize and expand solutions across various clients and use cases.

• Collaborate with Business Development to define opportunities, clarify technical requirements, and evaluate feasibility.

• Engage in client discussions as a technical resource, translating capabilities into tangible business value.

• Assist in creating technical demonstrations, solution walkthroughs, and related materials for significant opportunities.

• Guide data and analytical validation processes to confirm solution viability, scalability, and anticipated outcomes.

• Review data structures, assumptions, and analytical outputs to ensure technical robustness.

• Support proof points (e.g., pilots, prototypes, demonstrations) when they enhance confidence in the solution.

• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to ensure solution designs align with platform capabilities and delivery realities.

• Identify risks, dependencies, and trade-offs early to maintain project momentum and clarity.

• Serve as a bridge between commercial intent and technical execution across teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• We seek demonstrated technical expertise and sound judgment gained through real-world experience with complex problems, rather than a specific career path or title history.

• Proficiency with Snowflake is essential. You should possess hands-on experience with Snowflake, and while certification is not required, you must be capable of confidently contributing to technical decisions in a Snowflake-centric environment.

• Previous experience in solutions engineering, data engineering, analytics, data products, or a related technical role is necessary.

• Familiarity with data integration, pipelines, data modeling, and solution architecture concepts is required.

• Experience with modern cloud data platforms and analytics workflows is crucial; familiarity with AWS and Alteryx is a plus.

• Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications and actionable solution plans is essential.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including comfort with complex datasets, are required.

• Proficiency in clearly communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences is necessary.

• Leadership experience is essential—this can be through direct management, technical lead roles, or managing cross-functional workstreams. Formal people-management experience is preferred, but not mandatory.

• Experience collaborating across Sales, Product, Engineering, or analytics functions is a significant advantage.

• ***Plus: ****Experience in data onboarding, identity resolution, audience strategy, martech/adtech, or measurement partnerships is beneficial. Familiarity with activation, programmatic, or audience deployment is also a plus.
