
DevOps Engineer IV – CI/CD Pipeline, Platform Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and sustain automated CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitLab CI and Jenkins, implementing build-once promotion patterns, fail-fast verification, and automated rollbacks across development, staging, and production environments.
• Create and manage shared deployment tools, reusable GitLab CI templates, and Terraform modules that are utilized by 5 or more AppDev delivery teams as self-service infrastructure.
• Maintain secure, standard base Docker images for Java, Python, and Angular applications, deploying containers on AWS ECS, EKS, or Fargate with zero-downtime strategies.
• Enforce pipeline security and quality gates (such as Trivy container scanning, SonarQube static analysis, and Open Policy Agent policy-as-code) during the commit and merge stages.
• Address over-privileged IAM configurations by applying least-privilege standards without disrupting active production services.
• Develop a roadmap for and implement DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Change Lead Time, Change Failure Rate, MTTR) within the program's CI/CD capabilities.
• Author and maintain runbooks, deployment documentation, and architectural documentation; lead knowledge-transfer sessions with engineering teams.
• Engage in SAFe ceremonies, including PI planning, dependency management, and the development of CI/CD roadmaps.
• Assist in recruitment efforts by evaluating homework assignments and potentially participating in interviews.
• Bachelor’s degree and over 8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent amount of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must fulfill federal suitability requirements and successfully pass a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Over 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform (or similar Infrastructure as Code), and Git/GitLab in production environments.
• Experience supporting 5 or more engineering teams from a shared DevOps/platform function.
• Proven experience designing and building CI/CD pipelines in GitLab and/or Jenkins, including implementing quality and security gates.
• Strong working knowledge of containerization using Docker and orchestration on AWS ECS/EKS/Fargate.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including SAST, dependency scanning, and automated vulnerability remediation.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with a comfort level in a highly collaborative Agile/SAFe environment.
• Extensive expertise in designing reusable CI/CD templates and Terraform module libraries that are utilized by multiple teams.
