DevOps Engineer – EU Night Shift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• Provide support and enhancement for various hybrid production infrastructure environments across more than 15 development teams, managing over 100 products, 10,000+ domains, and billions of hits daily.

• Assist developers in resolving intricate technical challenges across multiple stacks and environments.

• Design and strategize improvements for a multi-datacenter development setup.

• Engage in design discussions, including the exploration and prototyping of new technologies.

• Advocate for and assist development teams in transitioning their services to more automated and elastic infrastructures utilizing top-tier technologies (Cloud, Kubernetes, Serverless, etc.).

• Document processes and track performance metrics for all our environments and services.

• Promote and implement effective CI/CD strategies and practices.

• Contribute to the development and enhancement of critical cloud-based shared services that support numerous products.

• Support and expand the coverage of our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) configuration.

• Mentor junior DevOps staff to gain experience and adhere to best practices.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a comparable role.

• A passion for enhancing efficiency and reliability.

• Experience as a DevOps or Systems Administrator within Linux environments for several years.

• Knowledge of scalability patterns applied to infrastructure architecture for high-traffic systems.

• Strong understanding of the offerings from the three major Cloud providers and real-world experience with at least one.

• Experience in provisioning servers, virtual machines, and services using VMWare or similar technologies.

• Willingness and ability to assist developers in debugging complex issues.

• Comfort with the command line, scripting, and configuring applications such as Web Servers, Load Balancers, etc.

• Experience managing highly available database clusters and caching systems.

• Solid understanding of networking and infrastructure setup within a web hosting/delivery environment (DNS, HTTPS, WAF).

• Proficient in debugging and coding (preferably in Python).

• Good grasp of continuous integration and continuous delivery models and best practices.

• Experience with Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with configuration management and/or orchestration tools such as Ansible.

• Knowledge of monitoring processes and tools.

• Self-sufficient with excellent communication and time management skills.
