DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement AWS cloud architecture utilizing services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, ELB/ALB, EKS, and other AWS-native offerings, focusing on scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery.

• Provision and oversee AWS resources, including compute, storage, networking, and databases, utilizing the AWS Management Console, CLI, and infrastructure-as-code tools.

• Create and maintain automated deployment and provisioning of solutions employing Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.

• Implement and uphold best practices for cloud security, including IAM, encryption both at rest and in transit, network segmentation, logging, and adherence to relevant regulatory standards.

• Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and cost efficiency using AWS monitoring and alerting tools; proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.

• Integrate cloud infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines to enhance application builds and deployments, utilizing GitHub Actions.

• Work closely with development teams to comprehend application requirements and convert them into effective, secure AWS-based solutions.

• Manage application deployments and releases with minimal downtime, using containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (EKS).


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in the field.

• Strong expertise in infrastructure automation through Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and system administration tasks.

• Comprehensive understanding of AWS security principles, the shared responsibility model, and best practices for securing cloud environments.

• Solid foundation in networking concepts, including subnetting, routing, load balancing, firewall rules, and VPN connectivity.

• Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues pertaining to AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) principles and tools.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional development teams.

• Additional Qualifications: One or more of the following certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty.
