DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sri Lanka.

📋 Description

• Analyze operational and business data to uncover opportunities for automation and prioritize initiatives.

• Measure and report on the effectiveness and impact of automation implementations.

• Evaluate existing processes and pinpoint areas for efficiency enhancements.

• Create current-state and future-state process maps to support automation strategies.

• Identify systems with API capabilities and evaluate integration opportunities.

• Design and implement automation solutions utilizing APIs and native integrations.

• Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to enhance integration capabilities.

• Document all integrations while maintaining technical standards.

• Design and implement workflow automation solutions across business and operational systems.

• Deploy workflow engines and automation platforms to boost efficiency and consistency.

• Train internal teams on automation capabilities and workflow utilization.

• Continuously enhance automation frameworks and operational processes.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, process maps, and standard operating procedures.

• Document automation solutions, workflows, and system integrations.

• Communicate process improvements and operational changes throughout the organization.

• Deliver training and enablement activities to maximize automation adoption.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.

• Support infrastructure automation and optimize cloud platform performance.

• Implement governance, security controls, and operational best practices.

• Contribute to software development, platform reliability, and service improvement initiatives.

• Work closely with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.

• Support billable project work and client-facing automation initiatives.

• Provide technical guidance and recommendations aligned with business goals.

• Collaborate across teams to ensure successful delivery outcomes and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar roles.

• Experience in managed service providers (MSP), managed services, or client-facing technology environments.

• Proven track record in delivering cloud-based solutions and automation initiatives.

• Experience in project planning, technical discovery, and solution design activities.

• Background in implementing security and governance practices within cloud or software platforms.

• Advanced skills in Python development.

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles and development best practices.

• Extensive experience with API integrations and automation frameworks.

• Advanced knowledge in PowerShell scripting and automation.

• Experience with Bash/Shell scripting.

• Strong SQL development and database querying skills.

• Experience in designing scalable automation and workflow solutions.

• Significant experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.

• Hands-on experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in infrastructure automation.

• Experience managing source control repositories with GitHub and GitLab.

• Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and architectures.

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.

• Experience implementing security controls and governance frameworks.

• Ability to scope, design, and document technical solutions.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Understanding of secure software development and operational best practices.

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, Bicep, or similar tools.

• Experience with AI integration, automation, and generative AI tooling.

• Exposure to C++ or other modern programming languages.

• Open-source development experience.

• Experience in MSP automation and systems integration.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
