This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design, implement, and maintain both MongoDB Atlas and non-Atlas environments, ensuring they are highly available, scalable, and secure.
• Create and enforce strategies for resiliency and disaster recovery, including backup, restoration, and multi-region failover solutions.
• Enhance database performance and optimize query execution to support application development teams across all phases of the SDLC.
• Develop and oversee infrastructure-as-code solutions (using Terraform and GitOps) for the provisioning and automation of databases.
• Implement and improve observability and monitoring solutions utilizing Dynatrace, CloudWatch, and MongoDB's native telemetry.
• Manage access control, auditing, and encryption to comply with enterprise security and regulatory requirements.
• Work collaboratively with application, DevOps, and platform teams to enhance reliability, performance, and overall operational excellence.
• Lead incident response for database-related challenges, conduct root cause analysis, and implement both corrective and preventive actions.
• Mentor and guide technical teams, contributing to documentation, standards, and design evaluations.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a MongoDB DBA, with at least 4 years specifically in administering MongoDB Atlas.
• Strong expertise in the AWS ecosystem, including EC2, EKS, CloudWatch, IAM, KMS, VPC, and Lambda.
• Proficiency in Terraform, GitOps, CI/CD automation, and managing containerized workloads (EKS/Kubernetes).
• Experience with Dynatrace, Prometheus, or similar observability platforms.
• Strong skills in Linux administration and scripting (Python, Bash).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation abilities.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and incident response duties.
• Travel requirement: less than 10%.
