Database CloudOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Provide support and administration for a high-traffic database, handling around 20,000 transactions per minute.

• Execute and sustain zero-downtime database migrations to ensure seamless transitions.

• Proactively identify and resolve database-related issues and performance bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with the development team to tackle tasks concerning database architecture and query optimization.

• Configure and maintain PostgreSQL database infrastructure in AWS (RDS, Aurora), managed via Terraform.

• Engage in optimizing database architecture, performance tuning, bottleneck analysis, and suggesting enhancements.

• Manage tasks related to incident and performance management, and participate in new projects and services that involve databases.

• Actively engage in the development process by taking the initiative to identify issues and propose tasks, rather than solely addressing incoming tickets.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5+ years of professional experience in software or data engineering, depending on the specific role.

• Extensive knowledge of PostgreSQL, including query optimization, indexing strategies, replication, and performance troubleshooting.

• Experience in working with large-scale data systems, ETL pipelines, or distributed backend systems.

• Strong understanding of SQL performance tuning, schema design, and transaction management.

• Practical experience with Linux systems, monitoring tools, and automation scripting.

• Familiarity with AWS services (such as Aurora, RDS, Redshift, and Kafka Debezium connectors) and similar cloud environments.

• Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
