AWS FinOps Engineer / Cloud Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Identify and execute opportunities for cost optimization within AWS, such as rightsizing, Reserved Instances, and Savings Plans.

• Develop and enforce strategies for cloud cost allocation and tagging.

• Set up capabilities for cost anomaly detection, alerting, and reporting.

• Evaluate suggestions from AWS Trusted Advisor and AWS Cost Optimization Hub.

• Provide monthly reports on cost optimization and executive recommendations.

• Educate customer teams regarding FinOps best practices and cloud financial management.

• Assist in the implementation of frameworks and standards from the FinOps Foundation.

• Work collaboratively with engineering and finance teams to enhance cloud governance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in AWS cloud operations, FinOps, or cloud financial management.

• Deep understanding of AWS billing, Cost Explorer, CUR, Savings Plans, and Reserved Instances.

• Proven experience with cloud cost optimization and governance initiatives.

• Familiarity with AWS Organizations and multi-account setups.

• Strong analytical and communication skills.

• FinOps Certified Practitioner is preferred.

• AWS certification is preferred.
