Data Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design, development, and implementation of advanced large-language-model capabilities within a cloud-based analytics framework.

• Drive innovation initiatives surrounding state-of-the-art AI, taking ownership of the architecture and strategy for fine-tuning and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

• Supervise the creation of impactful prototypes and manage the advancement of scalable LLM pipelines.

• Ensure comprehensive governance, security, and performance across all model deployments.

• Provide technical direction, assess emerging LLM technologies, establish best practices, and facilitate transformation through the effective deployment of generative AI.

⛳️ Requirements

• All applicants must successfully obtain public trust clearance through the U.S. Federal Government.

• Must be U.S. citizens or obtain clearance through the Foreign National Government System.

• Bachelor’s Degree and over 5 years of prior systems engineering experience.

• Proven experience in developing and working with large language models (LLMs).

• Expertise in fine-tuning LLMs, utilizing parameter-efficient training methods, and formulating effective prompt engineering strategies.

• Proficient in designing, implementing, and optimizing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.

• Hands-on experience with LLM development frameworks and orchestration tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar technologies.

• Strong proficiency in Python programming, with experience in building, testing, and deploying AI/ML applications.

• Familiarity with distributed computing environments or large-scale model training and inference.

• Experience in designing, deploying, and supporting AI/ML solutions within cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and GCP.

• Knowledge of MLOps and LLMOps practices.
