Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Development and Enablement of Data Platforms & AI: You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing ELT pipelines that extract data from internal operational systems, APIs, third-party platforms, and event sources into Snowflake using tools like Fivetran and cloud-native integrations.

• Data Modelling, Transformation, and Analytics Support: You will design and sustain raw, curated, and business-ready data models within Snowflake, ensuring that data is structured, well-documented, and optimized for analytics and self-service reporting.

• Optimization of the Platform and Continuous Enhancement: You will assist in enhancing the reliability, scalability, performance, and observability of the modern data platform, identifying opportunities to optimize Snowflake usage, streamline workflows, improve automation, and enhance the developer experience as TLC’s data capabilities evolve.

• Collaboration Across Functions: You will collaborate closely with Analysts, Technology, Product, and Client teams to grasp data requirements and deliver scalable data solutions that facilitate business decision-making.

• Integration of Operational Systems: You will support integrations across TLC’s operational ecosystem, including COSMOS, Mixpanel, external plugins, and third-party platforms, ensuring reliable, accurate, and scalable data movement across business systems.

• Data Quality, Governance, and Engineering Best Practices: You will play a role in data governance, testing, monitoring, documentation, and engineering standards to ensure high-quality, trusted datasets and scalable development practices across the data platform. This includes version control, code reviews, automation, and ongoing improvement of engineering processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or modern data platform development.

• Proficient in SQL and Python, with a background in building and optimizing data transformations, automation, and scalable data workflows.

• Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar, including aspects of performance, scalability, and cost optimization.

• Knowledge of dimensional modeling, semantic layer design, and developing curated business-ready datasets for analytics and reporting.

• Experience in developing and maintaining ELT/ETL pipelines, including the ingestion and integration of data from APIs, SaaS platforms, and operational systems.

• Skilled in monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines, schema changes, synchronization issues, and platform reliability.

• Acquainted with modern data stack tools such as Fivetran, dbt, orchestration tools, Git, and collaborative engineering practices, including version control and code reviews.

• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure and/or GCP.

• Strong communication skills, capable of working across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• A proactive attitude with a keen interest in modern data platform trends, AI enablement, automation, scalability, and continuous improvement.

• Preferred Experience:

• Experience in optimizing Snowflake and performance tuning.

• Experience with event analytics platforms such as Mixpanel.

• Familiarity with modern analytics platforms.

• Experience using Python for data engineering or automation tasks.

• Familiarity with customer, campaign, loyalty, or martech data ecosystems.

• Experience working with AI/GenAI capabilities within Snowflake, including the implementation of best practices and the use of advanced analytics and machine learning features to support business use cases.
