This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in data architecture, encompassing design, analysis, evaluation, infrastructure, efficiency, migration, and overall strategy.

• Strategically develop new designs for database structure integrations, leveraging knowledge of system interfaces to ensure effective integration and optimal performance.

• Examine techniques for converting existing data into formats suitable for new environments and loading it into various database structures.

• Offer recommendations for environment disaster recovery plans and migration tools.

• Oversee source-to-target data mapping across different data models.

• Support the planning, design, and management of data migration processes between cloud environments.

• Collaborate closely with the project manager and development lead to identify resources and incorporate the data migration plan into the project schedule.

• Establish best practices and standards for risk management, scheduling, and gathering data-related requirements.

• Conduct migration and testing of transactional data from legacy systems to modern systems.

• Facilitate the migration of users from source to destination systems and coordinate with customers on post-migration matters.

• Define test cases and quality control measures to ensure data is migrated accurately, timely, and in appropriate volumes for each project phase.

• Execute post-migration quality assurance, audits, reconciliation, and exception reporting.

• Evaluate existing migration tools and suggest performance enhancements for the migration process.

• Identify migration risks and proactively communicate these to the project manager and technical lead.

• Collaborate with management to continuously enhance team workflows and processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with 6 years of experience in data migration.

• Practical data migration experience utilizing various methods and tools.

• Proficiency in SQL for creating and maintaining queries, views, and stored procedures in a multi-database environment.

• Experience with relational databases, data analysis, and data conversions.

• Capability to assess data integrity, propose solutions, and develop systematic methods to eliminate data incompatibilities across systems.

• Skill in effectively diagnosing, isolating, and promptly resolving complex data infrastructure issues while monitoring project development.

• Experience in consulting and active participation in data-related projects.

• Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and MariaDB.

• Knowledge of database replication technologies.

• Awareness of Snowflake or other data warehousing tools.

• Experience with low-code platform data migrations (such as Appian, ServiceNow, and Salesforce) and/or specific Appian-related projects.
