Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and execution of a medallion lakehouse within Microsoft Fabric, creating bronze, silver, and gold layers that facilitate self-service analytics throughout the organization.

• Develop and implement Claude projects and capabilities that empower marketing, product, and finance teams to independently query and analyze data.

• Collaborate with organizational leaders to establish, document, and sustain a standardized business lexicon and data context that informs the self-service BI platform, ensuring a consistent interpretation across various teams.

• Construct and uphold robust data ingestion pipelines to guarantee a reliable and timely flow of data from source systems into the lakehouse.

• Design data models and BI dashboards as necessary to support marketing, product, and financial analytics for a subscription-based DTC business.

• Implement and uphold data governance standards, including data lineage, documentation, quality assessments, and access controls.

• Guide and nurture a cross-functional team comprising data engineers, analytics engineers, and BI analysts, establishing technical standards and promoting best practices.

• Work closely with stakeholders from growth, product, finance, and clinical teams to convert business inquiries into scalable data solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a highly technical data-centric role (data engineering, data architecture, or equivalent).

• Proficient hands-on experience with PySpark, Python, SQL, dbt, and Microsoft Fabric (or a similar lakehouse platform).

• Proven track record in building medallion architectures and production-quality data pipelines.

• Experience in creating or deploying AI-driven tools or skills for business users (experience with Claude or comparable LLM platforms is highly advantageous).

• Extensive knowledge of marketing analytics, product analytics, and financial analytics in the context of a growth-stage DTC subscription business.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with non-technical leaders to establish shared data definitions and business context.

• Experience mentoring and leading data teams across various disciplines.

• Background in growth-stage startups is essential; must be comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and building initiatives from the ground up.

• Experience in the healthcare or health-tech sector is a plus.

• Familiarity with machine learning or predictive modeling is an additional advantage.

• Must possess authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
