Cybersecurity Assessment & Authorization SME

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in cybersecurity, focusing on the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) of information systems and their related cybersecurity policies and procedures.

• Engages in the DOD cybersecurity process while authorizing an information system or serving as an SME for systems in the authorization phase.

• Has a comprehensive understanding of the application of security controls outlined in NIST 800-53 to assess and authorize the IT infrastructure of large organizations, such as DLA.

• Assesses the applicable severity level for identified vulnerabilities, such as non-compliant security controls.

• Evaluates the potential consequences on the system's current or future authorization status.

• Provides updates to senior management regarding the progress or outcomes of an information system undergoing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• A minimum of five (5) years of pertinent experience in Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST Assess & Analyze (A&A).

• Experience in DoD cybersecurity.

• Proven experience in evaluating security controls and conducting authorization reviews for large and complex organizations.

• Familiarity with the fundamental principles that support the DoD's overall authorization processes, including relevant cybersecurity policies, procedures, and practices.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity in emerging technology sectors such as Cloud, Industrial Control Systems (ICSs), warehouse execution systems, and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructures.

• IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3) at the time of proposal submission.
