Cybersecurity Assessment and Authorization Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Acts as a cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) of information systems along with all related cybersecurity policies and procedures.

• Engages in the DOD cybersecurity process while either authorizing an information system or serving as a SME for an information system that is in the authorization phase.

• Understands the application of security controls outlined in the NIST 800-53 to the assessment and authorization process of a large organization's IT infrastructure, such as that of DLA.

• Evaluates the applicable severity value for identified vulnerabilities (e.g., non-compliant security controls) and assesses their potential impact on the current or future authorization of the system.

• Updates senior management on the status or outcomes of an information system that is undergoing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must hold an IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC).

• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST Assess & Analyze (A&A).

• Experience in DOD cybersecurity.

• Proficient in assessing security controls and conducting authorization reviews for large, intricate organizations.

• Knowledgeable in the fundamental principles that support the DOD's overall authorization process, including related cybersecurity policies, procedures, and processes.

• Familiar with the cybersecurity challenges associated with emerging technology domains such as Cloud and Industrial Control Systems (ICSs), warehouse execution systems, and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructures.
