This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +25 more states.
• Oversee all platforms for security incidents.
• Lead and facilitate incident response from detection and analysis to containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Examine logs, forensic data, and network traffic within a complex healthcare IT environment.
• Create and refine SIEM correlation rules and alert mechanisms.
• Engage in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including nights and weekends.
• Ensure that incident management complies with HIPAA and other pertinent regulations.
• Take part in incident debriefings and initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Work collaboratively with clinical, IT, compliance teams, and third-party vendors to evaluate risks and address vulnerabilities.
• Record incident response actions for legal, compliance, and auditing purposes.
• Participate in healthcare-specific threat hunting, vulnerability assessments, and security drills.
• Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and changes in regulations.
• Assist in optimizing software applications, encompassing builds, upgrades, enhancements, testing, change management, and service requests.
• Coordinate the implementation or project planning for software application releases.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a SOC, incident response, or healthcare IT cybersecurity position.
• Alternatively, 5+ years of applicable experience without a degree.
• Demonstrable experience with EDR tools and SIEM solutions.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare risk management practices.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation abilities.
• Capacity to communicate effectively with both technical and clinical stakeholders.
• Willingness to be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation, including nights and weekends.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP or CEH are preferred.
• Must reside in one of the eligible U.S. states for remote work.
