This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Formalize and execute security product tuning requests to enhance detection capabilities and overall operational efficiency.
• Create and maintain incident response use cases, knowledge base articles, and other pertinent documentation.
• Coordinate basic forensic activities as required.
• Conduct after-action reviews on significant incidents and noteworthy events to pinpoint improvements in processes and human resources.
• Support the onboarding and mentoring of new team members.
• Champion and implement continuous improvement, open communication, and knowledge sharing.
• Assist in the creation, review, and maintenance of internal documentation.
• Facilitate appropriate out-of-hours communications such as company email and occasional SOC operations-related phone calls to address escalated issues.
• Actively promote team collaboration, cross-training, and comprehensive documentation.
• Serve as a primary subject matter expert for one or more security products.
• Act as the initial escalation point for complex or sensitive tasks.
• Identify and address opportunities to automate repetitive processes.
• Proactively suggest enhancements to minimize risk and prevent potential future incidents.
• Maintain a high level of expertise with the products in use and rapidly familiarize oneself with related technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent work experience.
• Certified in one or more intermediate-level security certifications.
• 3 years of experience in similar roles.
• Capability to work all shifts in a 24/7 SOC environment.
• Proven experience in the security industry, including knowledge of best practices, risk mitigation, and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to perform effectively in high-stakes and high-stress situations.
• Legally authorized to work in the US, EU, or APAC regions as designated.
• Passionate about cybersecurity and self-motivated to continue learning and developing relevant skill sets, along with maintaining industry-specific certifications.
• Proficient in quickly locating answers to questions using manuals and/or online resources.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
