This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Deliver cybersecurity engineering services for both classified and unclassified computer network systems.
• Create innovative solutions for intricate technical challenges and issues.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure systems uphold the necessary security posture in line with baseline requirements.
• Coordinate with the Security Monitoring engineering team to ensure logs are transmitted to the SIEM capability.
• Partner with the customer and relevant agencies to formulate new policies, design processes and procedures, and develop technical designs.
• Evaluate system vulnerabilities, execute risk mitigation strategies, validate secure systems, and test security products and systems to identify security weaknesses.
• Maintain and support security enforcement functions.
• Experience in MOD or Home Office project environments.
• In-depth knowledge of network and system security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, micro-segmentation, and host security.
• Practical experience with security products such as Trellix, Ivanti, ClearSwift, and Yubikey.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25).
• Proficiency in identity and access management (IAM), including RBAC, ABAC, JWT, and cookie-based authentication.
• Experience in incident detection and response within MOD environments.
• Knowledge of security compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS Benchmarks).
• Administrative-level experience with Kubernetes.
