📋 Description

• Conduct research, compose, and organize comprehensive training materials across various legal practice areas, professional skills, and leadership development topics pertinent to attorneys and paralegals.

• Create complete, scalable learning content packages, which include: module scripts, narration texts, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, knowledge assessments, discussion guides, and job aids.

• Simplify intricate legal concepts, processes, and skills into clear, accessible, scenario-based learning content suitable for practitioners at different experience levels.

• Develop realistic and adaptable case studies, practice scenarios, and skill application exercises that mirror the everyday realities of family law practice.

• Ensure content reflects jurisdictional differences across MFL’s operating states, collaborating with subject matter experts.

• Design the framework, sequence, and learning objectives of multi-module training programs, ensuring a logical flow and a scalable, coherent curriculum structure.

• Create scalable program blueprints and content maps that outline the scope, sequence, duration, format, and assessment strategies for each program.

• Implement adult learning principles and evidence-based instructional design frameworks to ensure that content fosters measurable competency development, rather than merely knowledge transfer.

• Work alongside managing attorneys, practice group leaders, and subject matter experts to gather substantive insights and ensure content precision and relevance.

• Develop assessment strategies — including knowledge checks, practical simulations, and competency rubrics — to evaluate learner progress and program efficacy.

• Provide the Learning Experience Designer with comprehensive, well-organized content packages that are production-ready — including clear scripts, annotated outlines, and design intent notes.

• Review completed design deliverables to ensure content integrity is upheld throughout the production process.

• Maintain and revise existing training content to reflect updates in law, firm policies, and best practices.

• Create assessment and evaluation metrics to assess the effectiveness of training, including completion rates, assessment results, learner feedback, practical exercises, and observed skill application.

• Contribute to program evaluation initiatives by analyzing assessment data and learner feedback to guide content revisions.

• Stay informed about developments in family law, legal professional growth, and adult learning research relevant to MFL's training priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional content design, or a related field — with a proven ability to produce high-quality, structured written content.

• Outstanding writing and communication skills, with the capacity to write clearly for both practitioner and novice audiences.

• Solid understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design frameworks (such as ADDIE, SAM, backward design, or equivalent), and competency-based training development.

• Experience in conducting needs analyses and formulating learning objectives that correspond to measurable outcomes.

• Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple content projects simultaneously, and deliver complete outputs within deadlines.

• Comfort in collaborating with subject matter experts to extract, organize, and synthesize complex technical information into learning materials.

• Experience in legal education, paralegal studies, or professional development within a law firm or legal services context (Preferred).

• Familiarity with family law concepts and multi-jurisdictional practice (experience in any of MFL's practice states is an advantage) (Preferred).

• Experience in developing scenario-based and simulation-style learning materials for professional skills (Preferred).

• Knowledge of LMS platforms and how content is structured and delivered in a digital learning environment (Preferred).

• Experience with legal research tools or the ability to quickly acquire working knowledge of unfamiliar legal subjects (Preferred).
