This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
β’ Evaluate flagged onboarding cases for contractors, including KYC documentation, discrepancies in identity verification, and any incomplete or inconsistent submissions.
β’ Oversee the queue for manual reviews that arise from enhanced compliance regulations, exercising sound judgment to approve, escalate, or reject cases.
β’ Assess changes to contractors' legal identity and tax information, verifying their legitimacy and identifying any anomalies.
β’ Investigate issues related to beneficiary and bank account setups, such as name discrepancies, duplicate account risks, and possible indicators of fraud.
β’ Assist in re-verification workflows and ongoing monitoring processes to maintain compliance throughout the contractor's engagement.
β’ Monitor and respond to regulatory or policy changes that may impact current contractor relationships.
β’ Collaborate with the CX team on communication with contractors and clients concerning compliance issues while retaining authority over all compliance decisions and determinations.
β’ Act as the compliance subject matter expert during operational discussions related to contractor lifecycle challenges.
β’ Identify recurring compliance challenges and trends within the case queue, providing structured insights to the Product team to facilitate automation and reduce manual review efforts over time.
β’ Contribute to the creation and enhancement of internal compliance policies, playbooks, and decision-making frameworks.
β’ 2β4 years of experience in compliance, KYC/AML operations, risk review, or a similar role β preferably within fintech, payments, HR tech, or a platform operating in multiple jurisdictions.
β’ Practical experience in reviewing identity documents, tax forms, and financial account information in international contexts.
β’ Strong analytical skills β capable of making nuanced compliance decisions with partial information and clearly documenting your reasoning.
β’ Knowledge of contractor classification risks, cross-border tax responsibilities, or global employment regulations is highly beneficial.
β’ Excellent written communication skills, especially in converting compliance requirements into clear guidance for stakeholders not versed in compliance.
β’ A mindset focused on process improvement β you not only manage the queue but actively seek ways to minimize it.
