This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Monitor and analyze applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to affordable housing initiatives.
• Create, implement, and revise compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory updates.
• Ensure adherence to LIHTC, HUD, HOME, Section 8, and various other affordable housing programs.
• Supervise tenant file compliance, encompassing initial certifications, annual recertifications, and interim certifications.
• Guarantee precise and timely submission of tenant files and reports to regulatory bodies and funding sources.
• Perform regular audits of tenant files to confirm compliance with program stipulations.
• Design and provide compliance training programs for property management staff to enhance awareness and comprehension of affordable housing obligations.
• Establish and sustain a comprehensive compliance monitoring program, including regular audits and on-site evaluations.
• Compile and deliver clear and concise compliance reports to senior management and pertinent regulatory agencies.
• Lead investigations into suspected breaches of affordable housing regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
• A professional certification (e.g., Housing Credit Certified Professional - HCCP).
• At least 10 years of experience in affordable housing compliance, ideally within a property management or real estate setting.
• Extensive knowledge of affordable housing programs and regulations, including LIHTC, HUD, HOME, Section 8, and other relevant initiatives.
• Experience with resyndication, acquisition rehabs, and new lease-ups is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
• Proficiency in property management software and compliance tools.
• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
