Compliance Lead, Network Growth

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with the Merchant Risk team to recognize, evaluate, and mitigate compliance risks associated with merchants and platform partners.

• Examine and authorize marketing materials for financial services to ensure adherence to regulations and industry standards.

• Engage cross-departmentally with teams such as Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Revenue to finalize reviews and address compliance issues along with their underlying causes.

• Assist in the creation and upkeep of compliance training and reference documentation.

• Thrive in a dynamic environment while delivering meticulous and thorough work.

• Aid in the execution of the compliance risk assessment and control inventory, which includes collecting, organizing relevant data, and documenting findings.

• Act as a knowledgeable advisor on regulatory compliance, particularly regarding merchant and partner integration with Affirm.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (compliance certifications are a plus).

• Over 5 years of professional experience in a compliance advisory capacity.

• Proven experience in fast-paced, ambiguous settings.

• Background in advising revenue-generating stakeholder groups.

• A strong passion for fintech and consumer financial protections.

• Familiarity with consumer financial laws and regulations, including UDAAP, CAN-SPAM, FCRA, TCPA, TILA (Reg. Z), ECOA (Reg. B), EFTA (Reg. E), TISA (Reg. DD).

• Curious and proactive in identifying issues, proposing innovative solutions, and adapting in a fast-paced environment.

• Capability to operate in a self-directed manner with exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, able to assist with minimal supervision.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex and contentious issues.
