Compliance Engineer – EU

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Assist in navigating intricate EU regulatory landscapes such as GDPR and the EU AI Act.

• Work collaboratively with engineering, product, and legal teams to integrate compliance into processes.

• Create technical documentation to enhance enterprise trust.

• Develop tools aimed at improving compliance efficiency.

• Formulate compliance strategies for regulated industries including finance and telecommunications.

• Transform regulatory challenges into competitive advantages.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with EU regulatory frameworks — including GDPR, EU AI Act, DORA, NIS2, and/or HDS.

• Proficient in ISO 27001, ISO 42001, or the wider ISO 27000 series — conducting gap analyses, risk assessments, and providing audit support.

• Capable of producing clear and precise technical compliance documentation that withstands enterprise evaluation.

• Comfortable assisting enterprise sales by addressing security questionnaires, customer compliance inquiries, and procurement processes in regulated sectors.

• Experience in building or maintaining compliance-as-code tools to automate monitoring and minimize manual labor.

• Located in the EU/EMEA and able to work within European business hours.

• Bonus: Direct experience in regulated sectors such as financial services or telecommunications.

• Bonus: Familiarity with CIS benchmarks and large-scale risk documentation.

• Bonus: A scripting or engineering background that enables you to advance from documentation into automation.
