This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +19 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily METRC operations across all current warehouse locations (NorCal, SoCal, Nevada, New York), which includes package creation, manifest generation, transfer templates, and driver assignments.

• Regularly reconcile METRC inventory with physical stock and WMS records; investigate and address variances, missing packages, untagged products, and transfer discrepancies.

• Resolve METRC errors on-the-spot (such as rejected transfers, incorrect weights, mis-tagged packages, voided manifests) and coordinate corrections with warehouse and CX teams.

• Ensure accurate METRC hierarchies are maintained, including package tags, item categories, strain entries, lab result associations, and waste/destruction entries.

• Process completed transfers, receipts, adjustments, and destruction events in METRC within mandated state timeframes.

• Act as the internal METRC subject matter expert and primary support for warehouse and CX colleagues executing transactions in the system.

• Implement DCC (CA), CCB (NV), and OCM (NY) distributor regulations in live operational scenarios, including manifest rules, transfer windows, transportation requirements, labeling, and storage standards.

• Maintain a compliance calendar that tracks state license renewals, regulatory reporting deadlines, and facility-level obligations; ensure timely execution of renewals and filings.

• Monitor and adapt to operational changes resulting from state rulemakings as they become effective (including bulletins, emergency regulations, guidance documents), translating these changes into actionable steps for the warehouse.

• Serve as the main operational contact for routine communications with state regulators at the license/facility level.

• Oversee the compliance vetting process for incoming brands and retailers: verify active state licenses, collect COAs, review product manifests, and highlight non-compliant items before they enter the Nabis network.

• Enforce Nabis Compliance Form requirements (licenses, W9s, COAs, banking documents).

• Maintain a real-time license database for all active partners with automated renewal alerts; actively follow up on expiring licenses.

• Verify license statuses in state systems (DCC license search, CCB portal, OCM portal) and ensure partner records are aligned with state sources of truth.

• Confirm that all product labeling, packaging, and COA standards are fulfilled prior to order fulfillment in each state.

• Manage COA tracking across all inventory batches; coordinate holds, rejections, and remediation efforts with brands and warehouse staff.

• Organize state-mandated compliance testing with third-party labs and ensure results are accurately linked with METRC packages.

• Conduct regular audits of inventory records, waste/destruction logs, and transfer logs; identify gaps and work towards their resolution.

• Direct Nabis’ response to both scheduled and unannounced state inspections across all facilities; serve as the on-site/virtual point of contact for regulators during visits.

• Ensure each facility is always ready for inspection: maintain METRC synchronization, keep records up-to-date, ensure proper labeling, and comply with storage regulations.

• Document findings from every inspection and follow through on corrective actions to resolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of cannabis compliance experience in a licensed operation; experience with distributors and/or multi-state operations is highly preferred.

• Extensive, hands-on proficiency with METRC is essential; you must have experience running manifests, reconciling packages, and correcting errors in a production environment.

• Familiarity with California DCC distribution regulations; knowledge of Nevada CCB and/or New York OCM requirements is a significant advantage.

• Proven experience in executing state license renewals, regulatory filings, and facility-level reporting.

• Background in supporting or leading state regulatory inspections at licensed facilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, capable of managing numerous concurrent deadlines and outstanding tasks without losing track.

• Comfortable working in a dynamic, technology-driven environment; proficient with METRC, WMS/ERP tools, spreadsheets, and ticketing systems.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convert state requirements into clear, actionable guidance for warehouse and CX teams.

• Must successfully complete all state-mandated background checks required for cannabis industry employment in CA, NV, and NY.
