This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Supervise crucial compliance functions, including the prevention of money laundering processes and operations, as well as trade surveillance.
• Ensure effective detection and mitigation of suspicious activities, regulatory reporting, and the development of internal policies.
• Oversee AML processes to identify, investigate, and report suspicious activities promptly.
• Submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the relevant authorities in accordance with established requirements.
• Address FIU alerts, inquiries, and emails, ensuring communication is both accurate and timely.
• Design and implement robust surveillance mechanisms to monitor trading activity and detect market abuse, insider trading, or manipulative practices.
• Investigate unusual trading patterns and escalate issues as necessary.
• Ensure organization-wide adherence to applicable AML/CFT regulations and internal standards.
• Conduct regular AML audits and ensure compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) standards.
• Develop, maintain, and update compliance policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in response to evolving regulatory norms.
• Prepare and submit accurate reports within designated timelines to authorities, while staying informed of changes in compliance regulations, especially in the crypto and financial services sectors.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with relevant authorities and enforcement agencies.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, including legal, finance, risk, and operations, to integrate compliance into business processes.
• Provide compliance insights for new products, services, and partnerships.
• Previous experience in AML/CFT or trade surveillance roles, preferably within the crypto, broking, or fintech industries.
• Ability to identify and evaluate risk factors associated with money laundering and terrorist financing, tailoring compliance measures accordingly.
• Familiarity with STR filing, surveillance tools, and AML/KYC frameworks.
• Essential ability to conduct and interpret risk assessments related to money laundering and terrorist financing.
• Capability to screen for any criminal records or past offenses that may indicate a lack of trustworthiness or suitability for the role.
• Knowledge of sanctions screening procedures and the ability to identify and report individuals or entities appearing on sanctions lists.
• Relevant certifications will be considered an advantage.
• Technical proficiency in using AML/CFT software, databases, and other compliance-related tools.
