This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate clinical documentation to accurately code diagnoses and procedures for inpatient hospital claims and data requirements.
• Code diagnoses, EM levels, and surgical CPT codes for both professional and technical claims and data requirements.
• Validate MS-DRG and APC calculations.
• Abstract clinical data effectively.
• Address diagnosis, EM level, surgical CPT, and/or PCS coding-related claims scrubber edits.
• Collaborate with client staff and providers as necessary.
• Assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes for inpatient visits, or ICD-10-CM codes, professional and technical EM levels, and surgical CPT codes for physician visits.
• Maintain commercially reasonable production rates while achieving a consistent quality level of 95% or higher.
• Engage in client and Savista meetings and training sessions.
• Keep up-to-date with coding conventions relevant to client assignments.
• Perform additional related duties as required.
• Active credential from AHIMA (American Health Information Association) or AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders).
• At least one year of relevant coding experience for the specific patient type within the last six months.
• Achieve a passing score of 80% on assigned specific pre-employment assessments.
• Capability to assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes, ICD-10-CM codes, EM levels, and surgical CPT codes as applicable.
• Ability to consistently maintain a quality level of 95% or higher.
• Up-to-date knowledge of applicable coding conventions.
