• Ensure compliance with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
• Convert high-level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and collaborate with various engineering disciplines to create detailed implementation requirements.
• Establish and coordinate the development of standards, practices, and procedures related to overall product development.
• Design interfaces and integrate system elements to function cohesively.
• Evaluate performance using established criteria and technical performance measures.
• Act as a customer liaison and support business development activities to comprehend and shape requirements.
• Engage in system conceptual design and document design concepts.
• Participate in design reviews of components (both hardware and software) to ensure relevance to the current system and maintain traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
• Create system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
• Review test plans/procedures to ensure they fulfill contractual objectives and participate in the testing process to validate requirements.
• Modify existing databases and database management systems or guide programmers and analysts in making necessary changes.
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers for database management systems or direct others in coding descriptions.
• Collaborate as part of a project team to coordinate database development and define project scope and limitations.
• Review project requests outlining database users' needs to estimate time and costs necessary to complete the project.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is required.
• Over 5 years of mainframe experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, and DB2.
• Proficiency in designing, coding, and testing software requirements.
• Basic understanding of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing, and delivery.
• Familiarity with the Agile methodology is advantageous.
• Capability to work independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen (no dual citizenship permitted).
• Must be able to obtain a DoD Public Trust clearance.
• Must not have been outside the U.S. for a cumulative total of 6 months or more in the past 5 years.
• Must have resided in the U.S. for the last 5 years.
