This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• This role involves providing support and enhancing Mainframe environments, with a particular emphasis on batch workloads, troubleshooting failures, performing technical analysis, and making adjustments to COBOL programs, JCLs, and databases.
• Collaborate closely with development, operations, and business teams to ensure continuity of services and adherence to SLAs.
• Manage and oversee batch workloads utilizing Control-M (Mainframe).
• Respond promptly to abends and execution failures: conducting analysis, implementing corrections, releasing, and reprocessing/restarting as necessary.
• Conduct rapid evaluations of programs to determine root causes and execution parameters.
• Make modifications to JCLs and COBOL/DB2 programs (including steps, DD statements, parameters, datasets, conditionals, and return codes).
• Adjust and validate SYSINs (cards and execution parameters).
• Execute analyses and modifications in accordance with established change processes.
• Willingness to work afternoon/night shifts and weekends as part of a rotating schedule.
• Extensive experience with Control-M Mainframe, including dependencies, reruns, restarts, and troubleshooting.
• Strong command of JCL and SYSIN.
• Familiarity with TSO/ISPF.
• Practical knowledge in batch processing techniques.
• Understanding of return codes (RCs), steps, conditionals, and datasets.
• Experience with GDG and VSAM, subject to client context.
• Availability for rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Maintenance and analysis skills in COBOL/DB2 are preferred.
• Knowledge of CICS and online environments is preferred.
• Experience with Oracle databases is preferred.
• Familiarity with Mainframe utilities (SORT, IDCAMS, etc.) is preferred.
• Experience with production support tools is preferred.
• Familiarity with change management tools (e.g., Changeman) is preferred.
• Background in mission-critical environments is preferred.
• A completed or in-progress Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Computer Engineering, or related fields is preferred.
