This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +3 more states.
β’ Conducts clinical evaluations of therapy services and/or durable medical equipment for members based on service request assessments, providing clinical expertise in line with practice standards.
β’ Collaborates with senior management to find opportunities for enhancing the review process and implementation of therapy services based on clinical evaluations of service requests.
β’ Performs utilization assessments of service requests pertaining to specialty therapy services and/or durable medical equipment for members, adhering to best practices and documentation standards set by national therapy associations and organizational policies.
β’ Offers recommendations for therapy decisions and refers members to care management as necessary, based on service request evaluations.
β’ Partners with Utilization and Care Management teams, along with healthcare providers, to ensure members receive appropriate care and treatment.
β’ Enhances knowledge in therapy specialties and collaborates with senior management to pinpoint areas for improvement in therapy services and/or durable medical equipment for members.
β’ Aids in educational initiatives by developing clinical training sessions, consultations, and guidance related to therapy authorizations and/or durable medical equipment.
β’ A Bachelor's degree is required along with a minimum of 2 β 4 years of relevant specialty therapy experience (e.g., OT, PT, and SLP).
β’ Preferred Education/Experience: A Masterβs degree in the area of specialty therapy and over 5 years of experience providing therapy services in inpatient, outpatient, home health, and/or managed care environments is preferred.
β’ Clinical understanding of therapy services, durable medical equipment, and assisted therapy devices is preferred.
β’ Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and effective organizational and time management capabilities are essential.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Co-Pilot, Excel, Outlook, Word, OneNote) and the ability to utilize various digital communication methods (e.g., instant messaging, email, phone, video conferencing).
β’ Familiarity with digital video conferencing platforms (Zoom, MS Teams) is required.
β’ Licensing as an OT β Occupational Therapist - Registered, PT - Physical Therapist, or CCC-SLP - Speech-Language Therapist is mandatory.
