
Clinical Research Financial Coordinator I – Medical Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate new protocols, amendments, and investigator-initiated concept studies to pinpoint procedures and services while developing billing budgets.
• Work alongside study leads and principal investigators to differentiate standard-of-care from research procedures.
• Collaborate with pharmacy, nursing, laboratory, imaging, and other departments to ensure accurate documentation of study requirements.
• Create sponsor budgets utilizing internal costs, historical study data, and sponsor proposals.
• Negotiate and finalize budgets with sponsors effectively.
• Assist in incorporating budgets into formal clinical trial agreements in conjunction with the University contracts office.
• Work with regulatory personnel to confirm that consent forms clearly distinguish between study-paid and insurance-billed procedures.
• Conduct a detailed review of final clinical trial agreements to ensure compliance with the agreed budget terms.
• Develop individualized study plans for study coordinators and supporting departments.
• Oversee billing and collection activities in coordination with financial contacts associated with the study.
• Provide billing plans to compliance offices at the University and Hospital research billing departments.
• Clarify, amend, and update billing plans throughout the lifecycle of studies.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving billing compliance issues and inquiries.
• A Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and/or relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the minimum educational requirement.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or business management fields.
• Capability to review clinical trial protocols and identify related procedures and services.
• Background in preparing and negotiating clinical trial budgets.
• Skill in distinguishing between standard-of-care and research procedures for billing purposes.
• Proficient in coordinating with sponsors, principal investigators, regulatory staff, contracts, billing, and clinical departments.
• Preferred skills in computer applications, databasing, and spreadsheet management.
• No specific certification or professional license is required.
• A driver’s license is not mandatory.
