This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +12 more states.
β’ Works in partnership with physicians, mid-level providers, ancillary staff, and medical records coders to pinpoint principal and secondary diagnoses, as well as principal procedures.
β’ Assesses quality indicators.
β’ Performs initial and ongoing concurrent reviews, along with some retrospective reviews, for system-wide admissions across all payors.
β’ Recognizes the need to clarify documentation in patient records and initiates queries or communication with providers.
β’ Supplies necessary information and education to providers consistently.
β’ Collaborates with the Physician Advisor to deliver educational sessions.
β’ Required: As mandated by licensure for RN.
β’ Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
β’ Required: Valid Oregon RN License.
β’ CCDS (Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist) or CDIP (Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner) certification.
β’ Required: A minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CDIS).
β’ Preferred: Proficient in using EPIC and 3M 360 Encompass software programs.
