This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Support the CDI Director in implementing and engaging with new clients.
• Work together with facility CDI teams to fulfill contractual requirements and achieve optimal CDI metrics.
• Create or revise CDI policies, procedures, processes, and initiatives.
• Ensure effective use of CDI technology, including data entry, reporting, tracking, and implementation.
• Assist with month-end reporting, analyses, KPI monitoring, and trend analysis for clients.
• Develop educational materials for CDI and aid in training staff and physicians.
• Oversee the daily activities of the CDI program, focusing on productivity, quality, auditing, report management, performance improvement, and standardized practices.
• Support concurrent record reviews, initiate queries, follow up on queries, and conduct query compliance reviews.
• Monitor the performance of the CDI program, coding and query compliance, and ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
• Approve CDI timesheets, conduct performance evaluations, create performance improvement plans, and track compliance with learning modules.
• Communicate updates, risks, and requirements of the program to the VP of Operations, CDI Director, and department Directors; escalate issues as needed.
• Cultivate relationships with facility leadership, client personnel, physicians, and Guidehouse staff.
• Lead meetings and coordinate deliverables for both client and internal senior-level audiences.
• Assist in proposal development and engage in recruiting efforts.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• At least one of the following: RN, MD, or MD equivalent.
• Must maintain the credential while employed.
• 7+ years of acute care hospital CDI experience.
• 3+ years of prior management experience.
• Familiarity with encoder and DRG assignment (MS and APR).
• Strong clinical knowledge of disease processes.
• Current understanding of Coding Clinic Guidelines and federal updates to DRG systems (MS, APR, AP, etc.).
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and disease processes.
• Excellent communication skills, demonstrating tact and effectiveness.
• Ability to engage with physicians in challenging scenarios.
• Capability to deliver presentations to facility physicians and leadership.
• CCDS or CDIP credential is preferred.
• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS Certification is considered a plus.
