• Determine if AI outputs are clinically appropriate, evidence-based, safe, clear, and beneficial for real-world users.
• Review the strength and quality of evidence surrounding wellbeing, meditation, and psychotherapeutic techniques, noting their limitations and contraindications.
• Assist in defining frameworks for evaluating indications, contraindications, risk, evidence quality, internal and external validity, and real-world applicability.
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to enhance prompts, AI workflows, evaluations, and user-oriented wellbeing experiences.
• Convert clinical, psychological, and research concepts into actionable product guidance for engineers and designers.
• Aid in establishing internal evaluation systems for AI outputs, including rubrics, review processes, and quality standards.
• Contribute to the creation of safe, high-quality AI experiences rooted in meditation, wellbeing, and mental health expertise.
• Support the development of structured content and intervention pathways in areas such as sleep, anxiety, stress, mindfulness, and emotional wellbeing.
• Identify where AI outputs lack support, are overstated, unsafe, unclear, or misaligned with the best available evidence.
• Collaborate with both internal and external researchers on studies, evidence reviews, and potential peer-reviewed publications.
• Influence Insight Timer’s wider research agenda related to meditation, wellbeing, mental health, AI, and consumer health products.
• You possess strong expertise in clinical, psychological, behavioral science, or mental health research.
• You may hold a PhD, be in the process of completing one, or have equivalent clinical and research experience.
• You could be an academic researcher, clinician-researcher, psychologist, psychiatrist, behavioral scientist, meditation researcher, or wellbeing researcher.
• You are knowledgeable about evaluating evidence, including study quality, internal and external validity, strength of findings, and real-world limitations.
• You can thoughtfully consider indications, contraindications, safety, and the practical implications of wellbeing or mental health recommendations.
• You have familiarity with meditation, mindfulness, contemplative practices, psychotherapy, behavior change, or related wellbeing techniques.
• You are adept at navigating ambiguity and can provide structure to complex, interdisciplinary challenges.
• You have an interest in AI and are prepared to work directly with prompts, model outputs, evaluation systems, and product workflows.
• You can communicate effectively with engineers, product managers, designers, researchers, and non-clinical stakeholders.
• You demonstrate sound judgment and can discern when something is evidence-based, speculative, overstated, risky, or unclear.
• You are motivated by the opportunity to work on products that impact millions of people, rather than solely engaging in internal research or academic pursuits.
• You are passionate about helping individuals lead healthier, calmer, and more meaningful lives.
• We provide competitive salaries and options.
• This role is fully remote, though candidates must be based in Australia.
• Additional leave days are available for your personal well-being and birthday.
• A generous learning and development budget and wellbeing bonus are included.
• We organize a global company retreat every other year.
