This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +18 more states.
β’ Conduct investigations, analyses, and assessments to determine liability regarding substantial first-party homeowner property losses and damages exceeding $100K.
β’ Negotiate settlements and authorize payments within designated limits, ensuring claims are resolved promptly and in a cost-efficient manner.
β’ Communicate effectively with policyholders, agents, and service providers through phone, email, and internal systems to accurately document claim information.
β’ Manage loss and expense reserves proficiently to guarantee precise and timely reserving practices across all large loss claim situations.
β’ Develop and uphold detailed claim handling documentation within the electronic claims management system and related applications, including the completion and escalation of Large Loss Reports (LLRβs).
β’ Demonstrate the ability to manage a backlog of claims at various stages in the claims process successfully.
β’ Interpret and apply the specifics of insurance policies to ensure the accuracy of payments and claim denials.
β’ Possess the ability to comprehend computer-generated loss estimates and construction terminology.
β’ Update and maintain thorough claim handling notes in our electronic claims management system and other associated applications.
β’ Over 10 years of experience as a desk adjuster in the homeowner/property sector.
β’ Prior experience in Large Loss adjusting.
β’ Knowledge of valued policy states and understanding of applicable perils, including when tendering limits is suitable.
β’ Experience collaborating with contractors and vendors for the resolution of complex claims.
β’ Familiarity with large-scale rebuilds and mitigation estimates.
β’ Currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an adjuster in TX, FL, NY, LA, MA, and AL (we can assist with licensing fees).
