Claims Specialist – Bodily Injury

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversees an inventory of claims to assess compensability and liability.

• Plans and executes claim investigations to verify coverage and ascertain liability, compensability, and damages.

• Determines and negotiates suitable claim settlements and reserves within designated authority.

• May participate in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.

• Communicates moderately complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insured parties, claimants, and external stakeholders.

• Authorizes payments in accordance with assigned authority limits and ensures that payments are executed promptly.

• Maintains precise and comprehensive claim files, including all correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.

• Performs additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Typically, a minimum of 5 years of experience in handling property and casualty claims.

• Completion of or ongoing progress toward a professional designation is preferred, such as Associate in Claims (AIC).

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling procedures.

• Capability to organize and prioritize caseloads, ensuring timely claims resolution.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to foster relationships and lead negotiations.

• Proven track record of managing confidential information with discretion.
