Claims Examiner, Auto, Bodily Injury

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Analyze and process intricate bodily injury claims related to auto and commercial transportation by assessing coverage, conducting investigations, determining liability, and evaluating the extent of damages.

• Manage complex commercial auto and personal line claims, including bodily injury, ensuring that claim files are thoroughly documented and properly coded.

• Oversee the litigation process for claims that are in litigation.

• Coordinate vendor management, utilizing independent adjusters to aid in the investigation of claims.

• Report substantial claims to excess carrier(s).

• Create and uphold action plans to ensure compliance with state-required contact deadlines and to facilitate swift and appropriate resolution of files.

• Identify and pursue opportunities for subrogation and risk transfer; manage the securing and disposal of salvage.

• Communicate the status and processing of claims with insured parties, clients, and agents or brokers as necessary.

• Perform additional duties as assigned and contribute to the organization's quality programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of claims management experience or a suitable combination of education and experience is required, including comprehensive knowledge of personal and commercial auto policies, coverage, principles, and applicable laws.

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentation skills.

• Proficient in using PCs and Microsoft Office products.

• Must secure and maintain the state adjusting licenses required for the position.
