This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Advanced Claims Operations & Trend Analytics: Take charge of a portfolio of intricate cargo claims from the initial filing stage to final resolution, ensuring efficient, accurate, and prompt management. This entails skillfully negotiating settlements, meticulously processing all related financial transactions, and analyzing claims trends to detect recurring problems and significant financial risks, with actionable insights presented to leadership.
• High-Level External Relations & Advocacy: Spearhead and oversee all major external communications and relationships with minimal managerial oversight. Independently conduct scheduled meetings with external stakeholders, tackling complex inquiries, facilitating resolutions, and identifying actionable items to report back to management for strategic evaluation.
• Financial Integrity & Legal Compliance: Thoroughly manage and reconcile all financial components of a claims portfolio, guaranteeing accurate balancing of all receivables and payables. Possess an in-depth understanding of the differences among various payment methods and the strategic rationale behind issuing legal documents such as releases and assignments of rights prior to cash disbursements. Utilize financial insights from claim trends to develop proactive strategies that safeguard the company's financial interests.
• Expert Claim Resolution & Mentorship: Excel in managing complex and high-value claims, often surpassing $100,000. Leverage extensive industry expertise to navigate intricate investigations and apply a comprehensive understanding of regulations, terms, and conditions to all claim values. Offer mentorship and guidance to junior team members on processing claims across the entire spectrum of values.
• Operational Strategy & Cross-Functional Synergy: Utilize deep business acumen and a thorough understanding of the transportation sector to strategically oversee claims operations, enhancing efficiency and ensuring compliance with time standards across the team. Cultivate and promote highly effective, collaborative working relationships with all internal departments, serving as a key liaison to streamline processes and mentor others in collaborative best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or 3 years of professional experience in customer service, administrative support, or the insurance industry.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience managing claims is required. Experience in cargo claims within a 3PL environment is preferred.
• Outstanding organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Proficient in Google Suite; able to conduct basic risk analyses and general data reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an understanding that proactive communication is essential.

• Strong critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making abilities.
