
C++ Software Engineer – Speech Recognition, Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Collaborate with a diverse and innovative team from around the globe.
• Create speech recognition software specifically designed for electronic medical records.
• Collect and process audio using a microphone or mobile device.
• Implement cloud-based voice recognition by streaming audio over a network and receiving text outputs.
• Ensure network security and encryption for both stored data and streaming services.
• Configure recognition settings through grammars and various software configurations.
• Conduct post-recognition text processing, such as formatting spoken dates according to user preferences.
• Support the features and requirements of higher-level software layers for applications like voice-enabled clinical document editors and clinical dictation tools.
• Gather requirements and break down Epic into actionable tasks.
• Implement features along with unit and integration testing.
• Provide input during code reviews and communicate any identified defects effectively.
• Participate in team meetings via videoconferencing.
• Manage monthly release builds and provide support for in-house and customer needs.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university -OR- a High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution along with a minimum of six (6) years of experience in the software industry.
• At least three (3) years of experience with one or more object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C++, C#, Java, or similar).
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools, including unit testing.
• Experience in multi-threaded programming.
• A Master’s degree in software engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution is a plus.
• Proficient in writing: C++ / bash; Reading: C#, Java, Objective C, Node.js.
• Knowledge of operating systems including Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, and Android.
• Change management tools: Git / GitHub / Jira.
• Continuous Integration tools: Jenkins / Conan / Ant / Ivy / Artifactory / Nexus.
• Deployment technologies: Docker / Kubernetes / Kaniko / Terraform / AWS.
• Familiarity with other tools: VS Code / Visual Studio / Emacs / Vim / GDB / Windbg / CMake.
