This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Ensure all procurement transactions adhere to company policies, federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFAR), and relevant state and local laws.
• Perform ongoing market research and strategic sourcing initiatives to discover enhanced quality, reduced costs, or greater value in goods and services.
• Identify, assess, develop, and sustain a strong supplier base utilizing advanced sourcing techniques and industry best practices.
• Keep abreast of market conditions, pricing trends, material availability, and regulatory modifications that may influence sourcing or procurement choices.
• Generate, issue, manage, and reconcile purchase orders within the procurement system.
• Collaborate closely with Operations leaders and program teams to anticipate future procurement requirements and proactively cultivate new supplier sources.
• Review and negotiate supplier terms and conditions to secure optimal value, including price, quality, delivery, payment terms, and risk management.
• Oversee the receipt and delivery of materials and services; address discrepancies and ensure timely inbound supply.
• Inform suppliers of any rejections or defects, pursue corrective actions, and recover associated costs when necessary.
• Expedite deliveries as needed and, when required, secure approvals for alternative sourcing or procurement methods.
• Communicate professionally and tactfully with both current and prospective suppliers.
• Suggest enhancements to procurement policies, procedures, and processes to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Operations, Accounting, Contracts, Program Management, Quality) to meet total supply chain requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and audit-ready procurement files and documentation.
• Conduct regular evaluations of suppliers, performance reviews, and scorecards.
• Prepare purchasing reports, metrics, and analyses for departmental and leadership review.
• 3–6 years of progressive experience in procurement and strategic sourcing of supplies and services, with substantial exposure to U.S. Government contracts strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier qualification, and market research.
• In-depth knowledge of FAR and DFAR procurement regulations is essential.
• Familiarity with Costpoint (or similar government contracting ERP systems) Procurement, Purchasing, and Material Management modules is highly preferred.
• Professional purchasing certification (CPM, CPSM, or equivalent) is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
• Experience with foreign supplier sourcing and procurements involving ITAR/EAR is a plus.
• Demonstrated expertise in bid evaluation methods and techniques.
• Strong understanding of cross-functional supply chain roles (Accounting, Contracts, Program Management, Quality) necessary to effectively support both government and commercial needs.
