Business Intelligence Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain a cloud-based data lake.

• Assess our ETL services to facilitate data transfer from various sources to the data lake and subsequently to our Power BI reports and other platforms.

• Oversee our API keys, OAuth configurations, and essential access requirements for authenticating our diverse services with the data lake.

• Enhance data refresh processes to ensure the availability of timely, accurate, and comprehensive data that aligns with the API limits of our subscribed services, minimizing downtime.

• Utilize the source data present in our data lake to normalize, transform, and integrate our data for executing business intelligence calculations and reports.

• Develop calculations in Power BI to generate business intelligence reports that fulfill Mako’s reporting requirements.

• Implement checks and balances to detect missing key data from source systems, thereby promoting accurate and complete business intelligence reporting.

• Collaborate with other Mako stakeholders to guarantee that reporting is precise and meets established requirements.

• Provide necessary audit support for business intelligence calculations, ensuring users can trust that reporting is accurate, timely, and comprehensive.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in computer science, data analytics, statistics, or a related field.

• 2-5 years of experience in managing a data lake, data modeling, and crafting business intelligence calculations.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively translate business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa.

• Ability to offer proactive insights on enhancing the efficiency, intuitiveness, and user-friendliness of Mako’s business intelligence services.

• A proactive approach to researching and learning as business intelligence platforms and strategies evolve over time.

• Experience with a business intelligence platform (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is essential.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets is mandatory.

• Familiarity with AWS is considered an asset.
