This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Oversee the commercial billing process to ensure that accurate claims are dispatched.
• Exhibit comprehensive methodology and expertise in generating precise UB04 and 1504 forms.
• Address billing concerns professionally to resolve outstanding balances and achieve the department's financial objectives.
• Process re-bills as required.
• Validate claims on SSI.
• Confirm that claims are sent with the necessary details, including authorizations and correct patient information.
• Maintain precise account information consistently.
• Implement necessary adjustments to accounts for accurate billing.
• Guarantee timely billing by overseeing reports produced by the billing system.
• Manage the Medicaid RA for adjustments.
• Re-bill insurance companies when necessary.
• Prepare and bill secondary payer accounts promptly.
• Investigate and rectify late charges/credits for accuracy and re-bill as needed.
• Document each account to reflect actions taken and schedule any additional required actions.
• Serve as a liaison and coordinate necessary documentation among payer, medical records, review organizations, managed care provider, physician's office, and ancillary departments.
• Collaborate with the system operations department to address processing issues and find resolutions.
• Monitor rejection reports and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide insights on issues and trends to enhance processes.
• Ensure claims are received by the payers.
• Assume the responsibilities of other billers (Medicare and Medicaid) when necessary.
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare business office is required.
• Organizational experience is essential.
• Skills: Proficiency in computer applications, Meditech, SSI, Optical Storage System, PC, and Windows Software.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Capability to follow verbal instructions.
• Compliance with payer billing requirements.
• Requirement: Good credit rating is essential.
