This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
• Deliver consecutive interpretation services between English and Mandarin across a variety of sectors (medical, legal, customer service, etc.)
• Ensure total accuracy, clarity, and neutrality in interpretation—maintaining tone, intent, and emotion
• Uphold confidentiality and impartiality at all times
• Professionally manage call flow, including respectfully intervening when clarification is necessary
• Exhibit emotional intelligence, particularly during high-pressure or emotionally charged situations
• Utilize short-term memory retention, active listening, and note-taking techniques to handle longer conversations
• Strictly adhere to the interpreter’s role without providing personal opinions or advice
• Engage in ongoing training, coaching, and feedback sessions to sustain and improve performance
• Use basic computer tools (MS Office, internal platforms) to efficiently manage calls and document activity
• High school diploma or equivalent (mandatory); college education preferred
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin, with a B2+ level or higher
• Capability to pass a language and interpreting skills assessment
• Minimum of 6 months experience in call center, customer service, or interpreting
• Strong verbal communication skills, bilingual accuracy, and ethical decision-making
• Demonstrated ability to think clearly and act professionally in fast-paced, emotionally complex situations
• Strong sense of professional responsibility, integrity, and time management
• Comfortable with assertive communication and controlling sessions
• Basic computer skills, including typing and navigating MS Office
• Quiet, distraction-free workspace conducive to active listening and sustained focus
• Reliable home internet connection (cable, DSL, or fiber; cellular data and hotspots are not allowed)
