Bank Regulatory Reporting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the comprehensive preparation and submission of bank regulatory reports, including FFIEC Call Reports (031/041/051), along with other necessary filings to the OCC, FDIC, and relevant regulators.

• Develop and sustain the regulatory reporting framework, which encompasses reporting calendars, data sourcing workflows, reconciliation processes, and internal controls to ensure precision and completeness.

• Analyze and apply regulatory reporting guidelines (FFIEC, OCC, FDIC, Federal Reserve) to Sezzle's distinct business model, ensuring accurate classification and reporting of BNPL-related assets, liabilities, income, and capital.

• Keep track of and enforce modifications to regulatory reporting standards, including the introduction of new or altered schedules, reporting thresholds, and interpretive guidance.

• Collaborate across departments with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering to acquire data, address reporting inquiries, and guarantee alignment between regulatory submissions and GAAP financial statements.

• Assist in regulatory examinations and audits by supplying documentation, addressing examiner questions related to Call Report data, and rectifying findings as required.

• Partner with external auditors and consultants on matters concerning regulatory reporting, including agreed-upon procedures and attestation engagements.

• Create and maintain documentation for regulatory reporting policies, procedures, and methodologies to support SOX compliance and institutional knowledge.

• Utilize technology and automation to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of the regulatory reporting process. Advocate for the use of AI and modern tools to optimize data aggregation, validation, and submission workflows.

• Offer regulatory reporting expertise to leadership regarding the financial reporting ramifications of new products, strategic initiatives, and modifications to Sezzle's banking operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in bank regulatory reporting, with direct, hands-on involvement in preparing and filing FFIEC Call Reports.

• Profound working knowledge of FFIEC reporting guidelines, schedules, and regulatory capital calculations.

• Experience with reporting requirements for OCC-supervised national banks or de novo banks is a significant advantage.

• Strong comprehension of U.S. GAAP and the capability to connect GAAP financial statements with regulatory reporting frameworks.

• Proven experience in building or substantially enhancing regulatory reporting processes, controls, and infrastructure.

• Proficiency in regulatory reporting software/platforms and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with data visualization or automation tools is a plus.

• Exceptional attention to detail, with a history of producing precise, examination-ready regulatory filings.

• Strong communication abilities, with the capacity to translate complex regulatory reporting requirements into clear guidance for cross-functional teams.

• CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional certification is preferred.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• Demonstrated experience utilizing Claude or equivalent large language model tools is necessary; candidates must be comfortable leveraging AI to boost productivity, research, and communication.
