This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Develop and sustain backend services, APIs, webhooks, and integration solutions.
• Create secure, scalable foundations for multi-tenant educational products.
• Enhance integrations with learning platforms, third-party services, AI providers, and internal systems.
• Design dependable data flows for assessments, feedback, learner activities, reporting, and operational workflows.
• Establish and maintain authentication, authorization, permissions, and audit functionalities tailored for educational products.
• Collaborate with PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and contemporary cloud application infrastructure.
• Construct and deploy containerized services in cloud environments.
• Enhance reliability, observability, performance, and maintainability across backend systems.
• Analyze production issues, determine root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Product and AI Engineers to translate product requirements into scalable technical systems.
• Engage with educational partners when beneficial to comprehend actual workflows and enhance integrations.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools effectively while upholding rigorous standards for testing, security, and code quality.
• Produce clean, tested, and maintainable code.
• Over 3 years of professional backend engineering experience in production settings.
• Proven experience in owning backend services, APIs, integrations, webhooks, or cloud-based systems beyond narrowly defined feature delivery.
• Proficient in TypeScript/Node.js, Python, or other contemporary backend technologies.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as NestJS, FastAPI, Express, or similar.
• Strong grasp of APIs, authentication, validation, permissions, databases, and backend architecture.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and modern cloud platforms.
• Experience in integrating third-party APIs, SaaS platforms, or AI services.
• Proficient with Docker or similar containerization tools.
• A self-motivated mindset with the ability to explore ambiguous technical issues, make informed decisions, and drive projects toward practical solutions.
• Strong ownership, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Preferred: Experience with learning-platform integrations, LTI standards, or educational technology.
• Preferred: Experience with event-driven systems, data pipelines, workflow automation, or integration-centric products.
• Preferred: Experience in building multi-tenant SaaS products.
• Preferred: Experience with CI/CD, monitoring, logging, privacy, security, or auditability.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Google Cloud or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Preferred: A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
