Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain both customer-facing and internal products and APIs, adhering to best practices regarding security, performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Influence technical and product decisions by offering insightful input, highlighting trade-offs, and assisting in the execution of mutually agreed solutions.

• Work collaboratively with engineers from various functional areas (Android, Machine Learning, Data, DevOps, etc.) to enhance shared systems and pinpoint areas for improvement.

• Engage in on-call rotations and operational tasks, aiding in issue diagnosis, enhancing system reliability, and minimizing future incidents.

• Persistently enhance existing systems by refactoring code, lowering technical debt, and boosting developer productivity.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–8 years of experience in designing, coding, testing, and deploying backend software for web or mobile applications.

• Experience collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver features and enhancements that align with business objectives.

• Strong grasp of software development principles, including the fundamentals of computer science, data structures, APIs, databases, and contemporary development practices.

• Capability to write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code while delivering quality software in a timely manner.

• Comfortable learning and contributing in related technical domains such as frontend, Android/iOS, DevOps, data, or infrastructure as required.

• Adopt a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, balancing technical accuracy, product demands, and delivery schedules to devise effective solutions.

• Take responsibility for your work by proactively identifying issues, enhancing systems, and following through to completion with guidance as necessary.
