• Design solutions within Azure encompassing Azure Networking, Azure Functions, AppService, Data Factory, Azure File Share, Custom Role-Based Access Control, Virtual Machine Hardening, IoT, Storage, Azure Databases, Sentinel, Backup Recovery modules, Azure AD, containers, Security, analytics, and more.
• Assist in migrating customer workloads to the public cloud; develop target public cloud architectures for existing on-premises workloads to be transitioned.
• Support assessment of applications intended for migration to the public cloud.
• Generate architecture diagrams for the target public architecture, ensuring alignment with best practices and customer requirements; present diagrams to customers and secure their approval.
• Execute migration from on-premises environments to Azure utilizing 6R techniques such as Rehosting, Re-platforming, Refactoring, etc., based on customer needs.
• Develop and sustain security, network, and systems management applications within an AWS and/or Azure environment.
• Establish availability, scalability, and performance strategies for AWS managed service environments.
• Implement processes and enhance quality through task automation: Execute Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automate security controls and alerts, as well as routine maintenance activities.
• Collaborate closely with a team of architects, engineers, and developers to formulate functional design specifications.
• Lead and cultivate best practices for the larger Cloud Engineering team.
• Work in close coordination with the DevOps team on additional cloud automation beyond the infrastructure layer.
• Provide guidance on infrastructure migration techniques, including bulk application transfers to the cloud.
• Accountable for the design, development, and architecture of Cloud solutions.
• Collaborate with developers and engineers to recommend and design database or data storage solutions that effectively meet business needs, security, and service level expectations.
• Oversee the migration of existing databases from on-premises to the cloud utilizing various provided tools.
• Review code enhancements for application upgrades, extensions, or other developments.
• Analyze applications for data integrity concerns.
• Mentor junior technical staff; may employ advanced development tools to assist or facilitate the development process.
• Develop automated solutions to monitor and support software development and release processes.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• Azure Architecture & Hybrid Cloud: Experience in designing and implementing Azure solutions integrated with on-premises environments.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Practical experience with Terraform, Bicep, and/or ARM templates.
• Azure Networking: Proficiency in VNets, Hub-Spoke, VPN, ExpressRoute, and network security patterns.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Experience in automating infrastructure and deployments; collaboration with DevOps teams.
• Cloud Security & Governance: Knowledge of Azure Policy, RBAC, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and enterprise security controls.
• Containers & AKS: Familiarity with containerized workloads and Azure Kubernetes Service.
• Workload Migration: Application of 6R strategies for transitioning from on-premises to cloud environments.
