This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Automate the provisioning and lifecycle management of AWS services—including identity, compute, storage, backups, networking, logging, and monitoring—utilizing Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Deploy, configure, secure, and maintain infrastructure across AWS and hybrid environments in accordance with secure baseline standards.
• Standardize reusable IaC modules, advocate for best practices, and enhance environment consistency across development, testing, and production stages.
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines and contemporary DevOps workflows using tools such as Git, Terraform, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, and Docker.
• Diagnose and address infrastructure and automation issues to guarantee reliability, performance, and continuity of mission operations.
• Implement operational visibility through enhancements in logging/monitoring and actionable dashboards (where applicable to your environment).
• Apply cybersecurity best practices and contribute to zero-trust and compliance-aligned infrastructure operations (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27000).
• Collaborate with security and networking teams to enforce secure configurations, change controls, and audit-ready operational processes.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery (DR) requirements alongside operational readiness.
• Work closely with engineering, security, networking, and application teams to meet mission needs and adhere to delivery timelines.
• Partner with data engineers and scientists to facilitate infrastructure needs for data pipelines and machine learning workflows.
• Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation including SOPs, system diagrams, and secure configuration baselines.
• Summarize and communicate findings and recommendations—both in writing and verbally—to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• An additional four (4) years of experience is required in lieu of a degree.
• Four (4) to ten (10) years of hands-on experience in AWS, cloud infrastructure, and/or enterprise IT operations.
• Strong practical expertise with Terraform for AWS infrastructure automation.
• Experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using tools such as Git, Terraform, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, and Docker.
• Proficient scripting skills in Python and Bash.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, zero-trust concepts, and compliance frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO 27000.
• Experience utilizing AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Kiro) to enhance delivery while upholding stringent quality through testing, reviews, and security practices.
• Self-motivated with the capability to work independently as well as collaboratively across Engineering, DevOps, and Architecture functions.
• Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must secure approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST before onboarding with Guidehouse.
